Cedar Grove Fire Department Wins Grant
Congressman Tom Petri reports that the Cedar Grove Fire Department will receive a $145,828 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The funds will be used to purchase self-contained breathing equipment, a new compressor to fill the equipment's air tanks, and a Rapid Intervention Pack, which is largely backup breathing equipment firefighters can bring to a team member who has collapsed inside a burning building.
"Our firefighters deserve appropriate equipment both to fight fires and to protect their health," said Petri. "Many small departments need extra help to achieve adequate standards. I want to congratulate the Cedar Grove Fire Department for succeeding with its grant application to this highly competitive program."
