Rep. Petri's Job Fair This Monday in Oshkosh

Rep. Petri's job fair will be held on:

Monday, April 23rd
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Rep. Petri says the following:

I realize that in today's job market it can be a struggle for individuals to find work, and for businesses to find qualified, skilled labor.  With this job fair, it's my intention to provide a venue for employers to meet face-to-face with workers seeking new employment opportunities.

My job fair is being held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Oshkosh Workforce Development Board, and the Office of Veterans Assistance.  Special veterans' hiring assistance will be provided at the event. 

In addition to more than 80 employers seeking to fill positions, the job fair also will feature four workshops conducted by the Oshkosh Area Workforce Development Center. The schedule is as follows:

10:30 am

Job Search Strategies -Learn about a variety of ways to look for jobs, see which strategies are the most successful and get tips for success.

11:15 am

Resume Writing - Learn what employers look for in a resume, what content to include and learn formatting tips to put it all together.

12:00 pm               

Cover Letters/Applications- Learn what it takes to write effective cover letters that catch employers' attention and make them want to interview you.

12:45 pm               

Interviewing - Learn how to prepare for interviews, what questions might be asked, and how to present yourself to employers.
